PROGNOSIS OF DURABILITY OF CONCRETE BY EVALUATING FREEZING AND THAWING CYCLES

Hydraulic structures are exploited in hard environmental conditions (impact of freeze-thaw cycling, ultraviolet, humidity and drying, acidity or salinity water, abrasion etc.), so due to the impact factors some deteriorations will occur. The repeated cycles freezing thawing have significant effects on durability concrete. They reducing durability, because cracking scaling Using research results investigated hydraulic concrete average compression strength fck, water absorption by weight Wm, formulae (1, 2) were calculated numbers laboratory n50, resistance rate F5 % from them – index probable deterioration start time T5 main .( fck loss 5 per year). Relationships between shaft spillway retaining wall , evaluated. These equations may be used for prognosis existing spillways walls structures.
